Senior Network & Security Engineer

Position Summary

The Senior Network & Security Engineer will implement, manage and support ARYZTA’s network infrastructure across all European entities, providing expertise in Cisco networking technologies, wireless Infrastructures, and security, working with ARYZTA's global network teams to provide a Global Network standard. 

The successful candidate will work as part of a European network team made up of three Senior Network engineers. The Network team forms part of the European IT organisation which consists of 50 employees supporting IT Infrastructure and Operations across 7 countries and 20 sites. The role will be based in the ARYZTA office in Ireland with flexibility to work from home; however, travel of up to 20% will be required to other ARYZTA sites in Europe.

Main duties & responsibilities:

• To become the focal point for knowledge relating to technologies and products covered within the network infrastructure.
• Deliver network implementations in line with ARYZTA's networking & security standards.
• Support ARYZTA's European network implementations and business units. Providing incident resolution and technical change expertise to live implementations and projects.
• Mentor junior Support engineers, to ensure their continued career development and ensure standards are maintained.
• Collaborate with the ARYZTA Infrastructure and Operations and business applications teams to execute and support projects which can be European wide or country specific.
• Help design and build a next generation network that supports the continued migration of workloads to the cloud.
• Travel to other ARYZTA sites across Europe, attending team and project meetings and provide on-site assistance in technology related projects.
• To work to change control procedures.
• Act as a custodian of the ARYZTA security posture, implementing security technologies to safeguard the ARYZTA environment both on premise and in the cloud.
• Regular reporting on KPIs relating to security and network metrics.
• Keep up to date on latest threats and security technologies to ensure ARYZTA security controls are fit for purpose.

Competencies:

• Third level IT qualification or Network experience relevant to this position
• The candidate must have a full understanding of ITIL standards and processes in a working environment.
• Comprehensive understanding of major data networking technologies and concepts.
• Ideally, the person will have 4+ years’ experience working directly in a multi-national environment.
• Experience of Data Centre communications technologies, firewalls and load balancing configuration. Knowledge/experience of AWS networking and Meraki SDWAN advantageous
• CCNP Routing and Switching
• CCNA Wireless
• Experience and good understanding of security technologies such as IPS, ACLs, Cisco AMP, Umbrella, Firepower, Cisco ASA, QRadar, VPNs, Wireless security, Cisco ISE, MFA
• Experience working with network performance tools such as Solarwinds Orion  
• Experience of automation/scripting advantageous
• Full clean driving license
• Fluent English and German desirable
• Ability to work on own initiative. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS 
Ability to write reports, proposals, business correspondence, training courses and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of audience types – both internal and external customers. 

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to address a situation logically and reasonably, effecting an efficient, sensible and timely solution.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS.  
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to travel up to 20%, attending project meetings and visiting suppliers, also visiting members of the team on ARYZTA sites. From time to time, you may be required to work out of core business hours to complete updates and upgrades.
