In terms of Business Models, Aryzta operates through: 

  1. Aryzta Bakery - servicing large retail customers
  2. Aryzta QSR - servicing  Quick Service Restaurant chains and 
  3. Aryzta Food Solutions  - servicing large numbers of individual customers mainly in foodservice

 

Overall Purpose of role:

Provide commodity and macro market analysis and reporting to support to the Head of Commodity Risk Management, broader procurement team, senior leadership team, key customers & commercial/sales teams. To support the development and implementation of the Commodity Price Risk Management process design, systems development, governance and reporting.

 

Main duties & responsibilities:

 

Governance

  • Support the Head of Commodity Risk Management in developing a Commodity Price Risk Management governance framework for the global Procurement function, aligning financial policies, controls and approach to risk with Treasury and Responsibility Centre / Business Units.

  • Attend regular bi-monthly/monthly calls with Commodity Risk Manager to update the broader procurement team on market developments and make recommendations on cover approach.

Process, Systems and Data

  • Develop analytical tools and financial instruments to assess risk, recommend action to manage market volatility and optimize cost.

  • Ensure the accuracy of demand forecasts, cover, mark-to-market curves and usage data that underlies the CPRM framework.

  • Ensure segregation of duties around execution hedging programs with 3rd party banks and brokers.

  • Support internal and external audit processes and ensure timely follow up to any CPRM related issues.

Transformation and Operational Improvement

  • Work with the Head of Commodity Risk Management to develop regular weekly, monthly and ad hoc commodity and macro market research, analysis and other output for the broader procurement team and key business stakeholders, including commercial and senior management teams.

  • Work with Head of Commodity Risk Management, procurement finance and the treasury function to design clear financial metrics and dashboards to monitor the performance of the CPRM program including cover and demand management, mark-to-market and third party reconciliation reports.

  • Work with Head of Commodity Risk Management to extend CPRM risk approach beyond into recently authorized options / option structure strategies, and to further explore the use of third party OTC markets as a means to further improve / challenge the way we manage ARYZTA’s commodity risk.

  • Support business category tenders and category risk cover recommendations.

  • Development and ownership of SKU level inflation models to track commodity price impacts on key product lines.

  • Support the Head of Commodity Risk Management in risk managing the European diesel and gas and power commodity risk across all business units.

 

Key Relationships

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with cross functional internal stakeholders (business units, treasury, commercial and procurement senior management teams) and extend external network through relevant industry forums and conferences.

  • Attend functional and Responsibility Centre business reviews as requested by Commodity Risk Manager or the wider procurement management team.

  • Strong background in commodity markets and broader macro-economic drivers and how the impact a procurement function.

  • Strong financial skill set, comfortable with budgeting, forecasting and explaining often complex financial situations to a wide variety of stakeholders. Ability to interrogate and pull apart data sets and quickly identify and resolve issues, and improve decision making.

  • Business & Financial Insights - Strong conceptual thinker with practical implementation skills. Interprets and applies understanding of key financial indicators to make better business

  • Decision quality - Makes good and timely decisions that keep the organisation moving forward. Makes good decisions based upon a mixture of facts, analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Powerpoint.

 

Education & Experience:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in e.g. Finance or Business Management preferred, not essential

  • Background in commodities risk management, analysis or similar exposure to some of ARYZTA’s key commodity markets is important

  • Chartered or Management Accountant preferred, not essential

  • Ideally candidates will hold the STA Diploma or equivalent
