Junior HR Generalist 

Purpose of the Role:

To work in partnership with management and other key stakeholders in a manufacturing and corporate environment. 

 

Role Overview:

Key Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full Recruitment and Selection process and associated activities e.g. interview scheduling, reference checking, pre-employment medicals, drafting of contract of employment, induction and onboarding process.
  • Provide timely and responsive advice and support to line management and employees, in line with legislation and company policy, facilitating actions where necessary.
  • In conjunction with the relevant Manager, lead and provide expert advice and support on all Employee Relations issues ensuring cases are addressed and resolved in a timely manner, in compliance with legislation and best practice.
  • Coach and guide management on all aspects of people management including Performance Management, Learning and Development, Talent Review / Development, statutory and other Leaves, HR policies and procedures.
  • Lead and partner with HR colleague and wider management in the implementation and execution of initiatives and projects that support business strategy e.g. Employee Engagement, Talent and Succession Planning, Restructuring.
  • Develop, update and enhance HR policies, procedures and processes, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practice.
  • Processing of Employee data utilising the HR Information System (Success Factors) ensuring it is kept up to date reflecting all elements of the employee life cycle and liaising with payroll as required e.g. new hires, leavers, contract extensions, internal transfers.
  • Compile internal and external HR updates, reports and people relates metrics, identify trends and drive agreed actions in support of HR and business strategy.
  • Support as an agent for change, review and drive continuous improvement and enhancements of HR processes, procedures and systems to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
  • Support with delivery of internal HR communications activity and events business wide.
  • Lead Employee Engagement Initiatives in line with People Strategy.
  • Ad hoc administration duties 

 

Experience / Qualifications:

Essential:

 

  • Solid Employee relations expertise with demonstrated ability to apply practical and pragmatic thinking to enable appropriate outcomes and management of all associated risks  
  • 0-2 years' experience
  • People Management / HR / Employment Law qualification

 

Desirable:

  • Some production or manufacturing experience would be ideal
  • Previous experience in the management of third party / customer audit processes (Sedex)
  • Use of HRIS systems, preferably Success Factors
  • CIPD qualification

  • Excellent knowledge of human resource processes, practices and employment legislation

  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Problem solver, process driven and results oriented
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
